SELF-STORAGE TIPS

The law and common sense dictate what may/may not be stored, but here are some general tips:

• Never store anything that is alive, perishable, flammable, hazardous, toxic, or requires a controlled environment.
• Read the entire contract. Do not hesitate to ask questions.
• Do not place items directly on the floor, place on wood slats or plastic to avoid moisture absorption.
• Purchase good quality (preferably disc) lock.
• Insure you goods - rental unit management is not responsible to insure your belongings.
• All items should be clean and dry prior to storing.
• Store items with self-sealing doors (i.e. refrigerator) with the door slightly ajar.
• Pack books flat to protect the spine.
• Label items.
• Leave air space around items for ventilation.
• Do not lean items against walls.
• Save space for easy access. Use height of unit.
